This notice explains, as the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 require, what personal information Shongo Ltd (“Shongo”, “we”) collects when you visit this website or write to us, why we use it, and your rights. Our registered details are on the company information page.

Our products have their own privacy notices, which apply when you use them. Our employees receive a separate notice.

This website has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising. It does not set cookies (see our cookies page).

Our lawful bases

  • Legitimate interests: replying to enquiries, running and securing the website, and keeping records of our business correspondence.
  • Steps before a contract: considering a request to work with us.
  • Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process information for us under contract:

  • Google (Google Workspace) provides our email, where messages to us are delivered.
  • Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website and protects it from attack.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for marketing. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

Some of these providers process information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the UK’s approved contractual safeguards.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and correspondence: up to two years after our last contact, unless they become part of a contract.
  • Website technical logs: kept by Cloudflare for a short period under its own retention policy.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it transferred. To use any of these rights, write to us at our registered office (see Who is responsible). We will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to us in writing at our registered office (see Who is responsible). We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it without undue delay, keep you informed and tell you the outcome.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. The ICO usually expects you to raise the complaint with us first.
